Does Smoking Shorten Your Life Span?

Not always.  Although I wouldn’t suggest smoking to anyone, it appears as though this woman hasn’t been affected by it.

In an alternate reality to this picture, she could be lighting the same cigarette while attached to an oxygen tank.  I’ve seen addicted smokers light up while on oxygen, not fully understanding that oxygen is flammable.

Is this picture funny?  I think so, but is it realistic that a smoker would actually live to 100?  It is my opinion that she is the exception, not the rule.

Oxygen is not flammable. Never has been, never will be.

I once scared the crap out of a nurse by lighting a match and holding a patient’s oxygen nose piece in front of it. All the O2 did was make the flame of the match appear brighter.

She was surprised to find that O2 is not flammable, it just makes things burn faster than they would in normal air.

I stand corrected. There is still something scary about a woman on oxygen lighting up. I was always taught that the oxygen was flammable, maybe it’s something else in the tank? The high concentration in the tank?
