Ohio Catholic Priest is Drag Queen Big Mama Capretta at Night
Catholic Priest Vincent Capretta, or Father Anthony as he is called, is a catholic priest by day and Drag Queen Big Mama Capretta at night.
Big Mama Capretta decided to unveil his true identity in celebration of Gay Pride month.
His hit single is #25 on the US Billboard Club Play Dance Chart and his statement about coming out of the closet, ” I am enjoying my life being who I am and who God intended me to be! Now let’s dance y’all!” says it all.
Is it time for the Catholic Church to finally come to terms with the fact that they have gay priests (never mind all the lesbian nuns)? Or is the Catholic Church going to renounce Father Anthony as an anomoly and confirm their homophobic stance on gays and lesbians?
If the Catholic Church would accept gays and lesbians, maybe they wouldn’t have to be shutting down so many churches and their pews would be fuller. In the words of an Episcopal Priest in a progressive town, “If it weren’t for the Catholic Church, my pews would be empty.”
What would be so wrong for the Catholic Church to admit that gays and lesbians are children of God too?
In 2009, when gays and lesbians can get married in four states and counting, it’s time for the Catholic Church to admit that their leaders, nuns, priests and parishoners are as gay as the rest of the population and instead of continually trying to convert the homosexual, accept us and move on.
*As an update, I have receieved numerous comments that Father Capretta is not a Roman Catholic Priest but a Catholic Priest in the Indendent Old Catholic Church. Although I did not specifically state Roman Catholic in my article, it was assumed that I have a vendetta against all Roman Catholics. When gays and lesbians can get married in the Roman Catholic Church, I will believe that they too feel that we are children of God and believe that we too should be treated with love and respect.

The Catholic Church does admit that gays and lesbians are children of God, and should be treated with love and respect, just like any other person.
What the Catholic church cannot condone, is sinful behavior, whether from gays, lesbians, adulterers, or any other gravely disordered behavior.
Loving someone of the same gender is neither sinful nor gravely disordered behavior. If the Catholic Church believes that gays and lesbians should be treated with love and respect, why don’t they treat them as such?
He’s not a Roman Catholic Priest, he a member of a small sect calling themselves “Old Catholic order” who are not affiliated at all with the Holy See in Rome.

Since when? What do you call it when your “priests” have sex with little boys and you just keep moving them from school to school, parish to parish, etc.
Thanks for the clarification, albeit it late, that Capretta is NOT a Roman Catholic.
As for the folk who persist in bashing the Church, take a pill. The Church Herself has publicly and repeatedly condemned those in our ranks who failed to curb the sinful and illegal behavior of a very small minority of priests. What should also be recalled is that many homosexual pedophile priests were moved about after having been repeatedly “cleared”, at the advice of secular psychologists, to return to ministry. If there is a beef to be had, blame the seriously inadequate analysis of psychologists for enabling pedophiles. In good faith, the Church relied on the testimony of such supposed experts who were contracted specifically to determine whether someone was reformable, reformed or not. So much for the unerring ways of science.
Homosexual priest offenders, like all homosexual-pedophile-teacher-boyscout-hockey coach-person-in-a-position-of-authority-criminal-perverts, often manage to operate below the radar due to their ability to manipulate others into silence. And, they are more than capable of duping others into believing that they should be returned to service. Unfortunately, the naiveté of administrators in schools and other organizations has also allowed a lot of criminals to get back in circulation near to young people.
Lastly, it’s high time those in the media strive for a lot more nuance in reporting, especially if they repeatedly obscure the facts and cannot get correct or worse leave to an afterthought an important detail or distinction such as Capretta’s affiliation.

As a response to Warren Anderson, Thank you for further clarifying the real situation of the homosexual and pedophile situation within our society, and in this case referring to the Church’s role and unfortunate plight. You’ve spoken it clearly and I thank you. Hopefully others will open their minds to understanding the realities of events and what leads to them, rather than be closed and/or narrow minded state of mind. Thank you!
